Philo Kresnick

Kresnick

Perhaps best known for scattering fresh animal blood on the heads of audience members during seminars, Kresnick has honed her reputation as a maverick of theory and practice.

During her conference, Blood and the Head, in New York City, 1993, she locked five audience members in a 6 x 12 steel box for four hours in sweltering 95 degree heat and used the box as a lecture dais (transcript available from Nindo Press). This led to the death of one participant, as well as Kresnick’s eventual ejection from the Council on Free Art, NY.

The artist currently shows and lectures in Australia and Europe under an array of assumed names.
